The purpose of NC
Caring Dental Professionals is to prevent a career from being
destroyed or a professional reputation from being damaged. The Program
provides confidential peer support and professional level assistance
through assessment, treatment, recovery and monitoring activities,
which, if followed, will assist the Dental professional in license
retention. We also provide on-going advocacy for the Dental
professional.The
Dentists and Hygienists of this state, along with the citizens who
receive dental care, should be proud of this Program which is a

CONFIDENTIALITY

Money will be saved by returning practitioners to the job, in the
form of taxes, insurances, and the burden placed on families and
business due to an addiction problem or emotional illness.
- OBTAIN
APPROPRIATE LEVEL OF ASSISTANCE
Dignity and self-respect are restored. This is an immeasurable
benefit of rehabilitation and involvement in the Caring Dental
Professionals.
The Program offers an opportunity to gain support from fellow
Dentists and Hygienists who are in recovery themselves and have a
new found sense of freedom.

ADVOCACY
The North Carolina Caring Dental Professionals Program can prevent
the loss of licensure to practice and avoid the emotional and
financial burden placed on the dental professional and his/family as
a result of licensure suspension.
The Program offers advocacy as needed with the Board of Examiners,
The D.E.A., and malpractice insurance cases.

RECOVERY
Quality healthcare is maintained along with the safety of
the general public through on-going monitoring.
